Training for Marin Ultra Challenge 50k 2025
This Saturday, Iβll be towing the line for the Marin Ultra Challenge 50k. First ultra this year, first time ever that Iβm doing the same ultra for a second time and first time running as an Inside Trail Ambassador. We left things on this blog at my SF half training. Well, the race went really well, more details on my Strava post. In this post, I want to detail my training for MUC, starting after my Javelina DNF and my race mindset for this Saturday! ...
Preparation for the 2025 San Francisco Half Marathon
My first race for 2025 is coming up, the San Francisco half marathon on Sunday, February 2nd. This will be my first road race since the Oakland half in 2022, and my first race back after the Javelina 100 DNF. Iβm a little nervous going back to road racing, but training has showed Iβm in good shape and Iβm looking forward to a great race. That said, this is not a goal race for me. The half marathon was put on the schedule as a goal post for a speed block. That speed block is in service of my A-goal for the first half of 2025: doing better than I did last year at Canyons 100k! ...
Race Report: DNF at Javelina 100M
Javelina 100 was my first attempt at the 100 mile distance, and lead to my first ever DNF in ultrarunning. I wanted to gather my thoughts here, for two reasons: first, to share a bit about the race with the community; and second, to help me process my DNF and think about what happened and what I should do differently next time. If youβre interested in my training, I detailed that in my training blog. ...
Training for the 2024 Javelina Jundred 100M
Itβs weird how exactly 6 months ago I sat down to reflect on my training for the Canyons 100k. I really enjoyed writing that down, and I wanted to reflect on the past 6 months training for the Javelina 100M. If youβre interested in reading how my Canyons 100k went, I actually never cross-posted from Strava to this platform, so please head on over there to read my very drafty race review of Canyons. ...
Preparation for Canyons 100k 2024
Iβm writing this about 2 weeks prior to the 2024 Canyons Endurance Run 100k. This will be my first 100k trail run, and I wanted to share of some of my race prep. Iβm writing this as much for the community as Iβm writing it to show myself Iβm well prepared for the race. Letβs talk about: The race itself My physical training What I learned in tune-up 2 races to adjust my Canyons race plan My nutrition plan My goals and my fears. About Canyons Endurance Runs 100k Canyons is a trail running event held around Auburn, California, sharing parts of its course with the Western States course. The race is part of the UTMB world series, and serves as the North American Majors (meaning you get double stones for the UTMB lottery). The race has multiple distances, 25k, 50k, 100k and a 100M race. ...

Race Report: Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Run 64k
2 weeks ago, I ran a 50k race in 6 hours and 32 minutes. Yesterday, I ran the Tahoe Rim Endurance Run 60k (watch says 64k) in 12hours and 30 minutes. This race was hard. It was hot. It was at elevation (ranging from 1500 to 2500m, 4900ft to 8900ft). There was snow. There was a lot of climbing, over 2000m (6000ft). And most of all: it was a lot of fun!!! ...
